Healing Rock, also known as Teepee Rock is located near Skiatook Lake in Skiatook, OK. An all skill levels hike will take you to this natural monument that is considered to be a healing site by some Native Americans.

Skiatook is often considered one of Oklahoma's best kept secrets. Skiatook was founded in 1872 by William C. Rogers, the last hereditary Chief of the Cherokees.
 
Skiatook Lake features 10,190 surface acres and 160 miles of shoreline. Guests can stay the whole weekend with onsite RV and tent camping sites for lakefront access to boating, fishing and swimming opportunities. Skiatook Lake supports ample populations of sportfish, including largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, hybrid striped bass, crappie, channel catfish and bluegill, as well as drum, carp and buffalo. More than 1,800 acres of project land are open to hunting, as well. Be sure to pack a picnic lunch and venture along nature trails before bringing the kids over to the onsite playground. Guests can also take advantage of boat ramps, restrooms, showers and group shelters during their Skiatook Lake visit.

The Osage Nation is a Midwestern Native American tribe of the Great Plains. The tribe developed in the Ohio and Mississippi river valleys around 700 BC along with other groups of its language family.
 
The Quapaw people are a tribe of Native Americans that coalesced in the Midwest and Ohio Valley. Historically they migrated from the Ohio Valley area to the west side of the Mississippi River and resettled in what is now the state of Arkansas; their name for themselves refers to this migration and traveling downriver.
